Colts not expected to offer Pat McAfee long-term deal

Pat McAfee was franchised last season by the Indianapolis Colts and earned $2.97 million.

If he is to cash in this offseason he may want to look elsewhere for a deal reports the Indianapolis Star. McAfree is suspected of seeking a deal worth $3.5-4 million annually.

McAfee, 26, remains one of the NFL’s best punters and has been handling kickoff duties for the Colts.

Working against McAfee returning to the Colts is that the team also must sign kicker Adam Vinatieri. They simply may not want to tie up too many dollars in special teams with players such as Vontae Davis also hitting free agency.
