Atlanta Braves outfielder Jason Heyward was taken to a hospital after being hit in the face with a pitch in Wednesday’s game against the New York Mets.
The incident occurred in the sixth inning of Wednesday’s game. Mets pitcher Jon Niese was on the mound and threw a pitch which hit Heyward in the face. The pitch did not appear to be intentional and both Mets catcher John Buck and home plate umpired Greg Gibson went to Heyward’s aid.
