Jets executive wanted to draft Russell Wilson

The New York Jets are 3-5 this season and while players on the team continue to say words of support for quarterback Mark Sanchez, public opinion remains split. Now word come that at-least one executive inside the front office wanted to draft Russel Wilson.

Senior Personnel Executive Terry Bradway wanted the Jets to draft former Wisconsin quarterback Russel Wilson. That there was talk about Wilson at Jets headquarters is not surprising but the source of this is defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. It earned Wilson the nickname of “Russell Bradway” around the organization according to the NJ Star Ledger.

Wilson was ultimate chosen in the third round, 75th overall, by Seattle. Two picks later the Jets drafted linebacker Demario Davis.

He has had a solid rookie season has he has tossed 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions for Seattle.o eight interceptions.

“He’s a rookie, but at the same time, I think the league has been taken aback by how poised this rookie quarterback class is, and he’s no different. He does not look out of place out there,” Pettine said.

While the Jets try to convince fans that Mark Sanchez is not the problem, you have to question why did Pattie feel the need to disclose this information. Either way the Jets will get to watch Wilson up close this weekend. Too bad for them he will be playing for their opponent.

The Jets are 3-5 this season and will travel to Seattle to play the 5-4 Seahawks.
