The Peoria Journal Star is reporting that Joe Girardi’s father, Jerry passed away today at the age of 81.
Joe Girardi, is the fourth of five children, and credits his father for introducing him to the sport of baseball. Joe gave his first World Series ring to his father.
Although with the sad news, Joe will be in the dugout for tonight’s important game with his team.
