The entry list for Saturday’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway has been updated with the addition of the #77 car which is to be driven by Andy Lally. Lally had been driving the #71 car for TRG. TRG will have Hermie Sadler behind the wheel of the #71 car for the event.
Lally had kept the team inside the top-35 in owner points for the full season and will win Rookie of the Year honors at seasons end since no one else is running for the award.
Team owner Kevin Buckler said he plans to run two cars the rest of the year, with Hermie Sadler being in one of the cars at Martinsville Speedway. Lally is expected to swap back and fourths between the two cars and will not be guaranteed a starting spot in races he runs the #77.
It is interesting that Lally will be driving the #77 this week since he failed to qualify for the first Charlotte race this season. Since then the team has worked it’s way into the top-35 in owner points and has been guaranteed a starting spot.
On Lally’s twitter he posted the following message.
The car will be back in the TRG blue from the start of the year. #77 was my karting number for ever! really cool to try and qualify it! (Twitter)
