Pastrana abandons 2011 Nationwide plans

After breaking his right ankle and foot during the Best Trick competition of the X Games Travis Pastrana had to put his Nationwide debut on hold. Pastrana believes he could be ready to race a car before the end of the year has said that he will instead focus on 2012.

Pastrana was scheduled to run a total of six Nationwide races for Pastrana-Waltrip Racing. Earlier this year the team scaled back it’s race inventory due to lack of sponsorship. The #99 had been driven by Ryan Truex.

Surgery was completed on Pastrana on Wednesday and the doctor who performed the surgery said that he needs to keep his foot immobilized for at-least the next month.
