Even though Carl Edwards maintains that he has not made a decision on what car he will race in for 2012 the garage is abuzz that he will move to Joe Gibbs Racing. Edwards has said he would prefer to keep his contract discussions out of the public eye but did announce his plans for the 2012 Nationwide schedule.
Like other Joe Gibbs drivers Edwards said he plans to focus on the Sprint Cup schedule and will not run the full Nationwide season. Edwards won the 2009 Natoinwide Championship and finished second on the points last year. He elected to run the full 2011 schedule even though he was not eligible to compete for the championship due to a rule change prior to the season starting.
Edwards has run every race this year in the #60 Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing with the exception of Road America when he opted to stay out west in California to work on his Cup car at Sonoma.
