All the usual suspects in California

The numbers say Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, and Jeff Gordon have 10 NASCAR Championships between the three of them. The numbers also say they have 11 combined victories at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. Unsurprisingly the three will all be watched heavily this week.

Knocking on the door of those three are Carl Edwards who has as much momentum as anyone in the garage and of course Kyle Busch.

The familiar faces of Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch figure to get their fair share of tv time and you certainly can’t discount Greg Biffle or Mark Martin.

After those names it’s all mush more or less.

I don’t recommend Kasey Kahne or Brian Vickers very often but  both are good mid pack picks this week but Kahne may be out of your reach due to his top-12 point ranking right now.

Clint Bowyer is always a good bet for a solid finish, and California is no exception. Bowyer is desperate to move out of his 24th place in the points right now and this could be a pivotal event for him if he plans to again make the Chase in 2012.

Dale Earnhardt Jr has just 3 top-5 finishes and 4 top-10’s in 18 starts. Meanwhile Paul Menard will need to do better then his career best of 18th set last year if he plans to keep his early run going. The same must be true for AJ Allmendinger who will need to find a way to stop his slide down the standings.
