Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was injured in a major car crash in North Carolina on Tuesday afternoon reports the Charlotte Observer.
A truck driven by Newton crashed into another car around 12:30 pm ET and then over turned. The accident took place on a bridge just a few blocks from Bank of America Stadium.
Newton was seen getting medical attention before being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher.
According to an updated report from the Observer, Newton could be seen smiling and did not want to to go to the hospital following the incident.

Newton was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries and was conscious.
Newton is coming off a big game in a 41-10 win against the Saints. He was 21-of-33 for 226 yards and three touchdowns adding another 83 yards on the ground and a score.
