Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles did not practice on Wednesday.
Head coach Andy Reid said earlier this week that the 27-year-old workhorse was dealing with knee and ankle soreness but did not express much concern that Charles would miss Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
Missing Wednesday’s practice should have little affect on the status of Charles. It’s the practices later in the week that will show whether or not he can play. Knile Davis is his backup.
At 7-6 and with two straight losses, including one against the Raiders, the Chiefs are in desperation mode as they try to return to the playoffs.
