Should the Oakland Raiders not have Matt Schaub to start the season the team feels good about what second-round pick Derek Carr has to offer.
Schaub is dealing with tendinitis and has shown a glaring inability to throw the ball deep this preseason.
Per @RapSheet, Raiders QB Matt Schaub is dealing with tendinitis. My understanding is staff feels Derek Carr is ready to start, if needed.

While Schaub has been pegged as the Raiders starter since the team acquired him from Houton, Carr has done his best to place the veteran on the hot seat. Even if Schaub starts the season his leash will be short.
