Robert Griffin, quarterback for the Washington Redskins probably receives hundreds of letters a week asking for all sorts of things, but one fan, decided to try something different and send Griffin an invitation to his wedding.
Why did the fan send an invite to Griffin?
“I just thought it would be pretty cool,” Curley, 30, told DC Sports Blog. “I thought there wasn’t that much of a chance that I’d get anything back, but I sent it anyways.”
Griffin ‘sadly declined’ the invitation, but wrote the couple a note that said, ‘Happy for you!!!,” and sent along an autographed card in replace of his presence at the wedding.
According to the article, Griffin wasn’t the only VIP that the couple sent an invitation to, others being Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Walt Disney World, and President Obama at the White House.
