Norv Turner says Vikings are seeking young quarterback

The Minnesota Vikings have a plan at quarterback according to new offensive coordinator Norv Turner.

“I think everybody is in agreement: We’re trying to add a young quarterback to the organization. So, you just gotta make sure it’s a good one wherever you get him,” Turner said during a press conference introducing him.

Turner has always utilized a vertical passing game so the Vikings are assumed to be looking for a strong armed quarterback in the draft. That could suggest the Vikings have interest in both Blake Bortles and Derek Carr.

Of course Turner did not limit the Vikings to the top talent in the draft.

“Quarterbacks come from a lot of different spots,” he said. “A third-rounder wins the Super Bowl and there’s some pretty good players who weren’t drafted high.”

Matt Cassel’s contract with the Vikings was voided on Friday after he opted out.
