Beanie Wells dealt with knee and toe issues last season while in Arizona. His physical with Pittsburgh seemed to confirm the obvious.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gary Dulac noted that Wells has a “BAD wheel.”
It may be some time before we hear Wells’ name again. Further physicals will only reveal the same thing. It may take the former Ohio State running back a few months to get healthy.
At 24 years of age, there is still time for Wells but his track record will keep him from ever being a featured back. The most games Wells has ever played in a season is 14 which occurred during the 2011 season.
