Rain halts start of Xfinity Series race at Las Vegas

The start of the Boyd Gaming 300 has been delayed due to rain.

Earlier in the day rain fell at Las Vegas Motor Speedway canceling qualifying for both the NASCAR Xfinity and Cup Series.

With track drying efforts in place the command to fire engines was given to the Xfinity Series but rain again fell on the 1.5 mile track.

Track drying efforts are again underway. If the race is unable to be run today it will be held following tomorrow’s schedule Cup Series race.
