The first roval race at Charlotte Motor Speedway will begin with Kurt Busch on the pole.
Driving the No. 41 Ford Fusion, it was Busch who posted the fastest qualifying time ahead of Sunday’s running of the Bank of America 400.
Sunday’s roval race at Charlotte marks the first non-oval race to make up NASCAR’s Playoffs. The race itself will consist of 109 laps for a total of 248.52 miles. For those wondering that equates to roughly 400 kilometers.
NBC and the NBC Sports App will have coverage of this event starting at 2:00 pm ET. The green flag is expected at 2:16 pm.
Kyle Busch won at Charlotte earlier this year but some naysayers will claim he must win the oval to truly be able to say he has won at every track on the circuit. Earlier this year on road course events it was Martin Truex (Sonoma) and Chase Elliott (Watkins Glen) going to victory lane.
