Ryan Blaney’s No. 12 Duracell/Menards Penske Ford Fusion will bear a resemblance to an old car his father drove in NASCAR’s Cup Series.
Dave Blaney drove the No. 77 Jasper Engines Ford Taurus between 2002 and 2003 for car owner Doug Bawel finishing a best of third at Darlington in 2003.
Now his son will drive a car designed to look like that ride.
The Southern 500 will take place on Sept. 2 at Darlington Raceway.
