Fans of short track racing will be happy to know that Irwindale Speedway has a schedule on it’s website listing races though July.
The shortrack was ticketed to be demolished to make way for an outlet mall later this year. For now it gets to live on longer than expected.
“What we have is the assurance that we can run through at least July,” Irwindale Event Center Spokesman Doug Stokes told the Pasadena News Star. “We’re still cooking right along.”
Irwindale features two short tracks, a drag strip, 6,000 seats and paved parking. The facility is located 25 minutes from downtown Los Angeles.
