Matt Kenseth congratulates Jimmie Johnson on Texas win

Just because Matt Kenseth was suspended does not mean he did not take in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

While Erik Jones drove the No. 20 Dewalt Toyota Camry to a 12th place finish which Kenseth considered a “solida day” the highlight of the 2003 Series Champions comments about Texas were in a congratulatory tweet to race winner Jimmie Johnson.

Johnson passed Penske Racing driver Brad Keselowski in the closing laps to win the AAA Texas 500.

Kenseth wrote “Good work @JimmieJohnson! Textbook pass for the win at the end of the race when someone is trying to take your lane. #quintessential.”

The tweet is two fold. First it reflects his view for what happened at Kansas, and also is a bit of a swipe at NASCAR CEO and Chairman Brian France who called Logano’s spin of Kenseth “quintessential.”
