Kurt and Kyle Busch both missed the season opening Daytona 500 on Sunday from Daytona International Speedway.

The elder Busch was suspended by NASCAR after a Delaware court found that it was likely that he committed domestic violence against former girlfriend Patricia Driscoll. A day after Kurt Busch was suspended, younger brother Kyle suffered a leg injury in the Xfinity Series race.

Both drivers will also miss this weekend’s race at Atlanta.

Regan Smith who filled in for Kurt Busch in the No. 41 at Daytona wil again get to take over the seat of the Haas Automation Chevrolet SS this weekend. Smith finished 14th back in the 2012 race at Atlanta and is coming off a 16th place finish in the Daytona 500.

Erik Jones is quickly emerging as the favorite to drive the No. 18 Toyota Camry of Kyle Busch for the next handful of races. Jones will run 10 Xfinity Series races for Joe Gibbs Racing this season and now should be cleared to get his first Sprint Cup Series start this weekend at the 1.54 mile Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Former Camping World Truck Series champion Matt Crafton drove in place of Kyle Busch last weekend.
