Fans are ready for NASCAR season to start already

The 2014 NASCAR season ended in November with Kevin Harvick winning the Sprint Cup Series championship. Since that time fans have been waiting for the 2015 Daytona 500.

There are only so many paint scheme posts or reports on Kurt Busch’s domestic violence case before one gets tired of it all and simply wants to see cars on the track.

Those who are not NASCAR fans do not understand. They never do. They respond with the usual “It’s just cars going around in a circle,” line. If you have anything with the NASCAR logo on it in your house then you have heard it. Family members, friends, co-workers.

The 24 hours of Daytona is the start of the NASCAR season. This event will be held on Jan. 24-25 and will be carried live on FOX Sports. From there we have to wait a few more weeks until the ARCA Racing Series hits Daytona but once than happens racing has begun. There is the Sprint Unlimted, Daytona testing starts, the Duels are run and the first truck Series race takes place on Friday Feb. 21 followed by the newly renamed Xfinity Series and then on Feb. 22 the running of the Daytona 500.

All that seems close, yet is so far away.
