Kurt Busch will remain as the driver of the No. 41 Stewart Haas Racing Chevrolet as long as co-owner Gene Haas has anything to do with it.

“He’ll be in the car until someone else pulls him out,” Haas told reporters prior to Sunday’s race at Phoenix. “I’m not pulling him out.”

Haas Automation will continue to be the sponsor of Busch while the Delaware police investigate the 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion for alleged domestic violence against ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll.

“I think we’re just going to let the police department do their job and try not to say anything that would compromise that,” he said. “We want an unbiased investigation and we’ll see how it all plays out.”

Driscoll alleges that Busch verbally and physically abused her following a race on Sept. 26 at Dover. Busch is alleged to have smashed Driscoll’s head into a wall three times.

A lawyer for Driscoll says she waited six weeks to file the report as she was in a custody battle with her ex-husband over her son Houston.
