Ryan Newman’s No. 31 car has been cleared by NASCAR following its failure of a post race inspection.
Just after noon on Tuesday, NASCAR announced that there would be no penalties for Newman’s team after the car was ruled to be too late. NASCAR ruled that damage which occurred during the race was the reason the car was ruled to be too low.
UPDATE: The No. 31 car has cleared post-race inspection from Talladega; there are no issues. Race damage caused the rear to be low. #NASCAR

Newman took damage on lap 102 of the Geico 500 which is the reason his rear end was ruled to be too low at first. With NASCAR’s ruling that no penalties would be levied against Newman he is on to the Eliminator round with eight other drivers.
