Joe Nemechek will attempt to qualify for Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway earning the No. 29 RAB Racing entry its first Sprint Cup Series start.
ToyotaCare will be on the car driven by Nemechek for Sunday’s Geico 500. Nemechek will have Matt Lucas serving as his crew chief.
RAB Racing attempted to qualify for the race at Daytona in July but was unable to make the field.
Most of Nemecheck’s seat time this season has come in the No. 66 car which has been fielded by a compilation of Michael Waltrip Racing and Jay Robinson Racing.
Nemechek has appeared in 15 Cup Series races this season. His best finish on the season was a 30th place run at Watkins Glen.
