Internet reports of Marcos Ambrose returning to Australia to race in the V8 Super Series have been put to rest after Ambrose told reporters that his plans are to race in the USA next season.
Ambrose does not yet have a renewed contract with his current team Richard Petty Motorsports but says he is going to do whatever he can do to get Richard Petty where he wants to be.
If Ambrose remains with RPM the question may be what car manufacturer will he be driving for?
“They’ve got choices, which is the most important thing.” Ambrose said. “I’m sure they’ll make the right choices for Richard Petty Motorsports and I fully support them whatever they choose to do.”
So far this season, the driver of the No. 9 Stanley Tools Ford in 11 races has earned two top-five finishes. His best finishes were fifth at both Bristol and Martinsville.
Ambrose is starting ninth this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the running of the Coca Cola 600.
