Kevin Harvick had worked his way up to fourth but began smoking with less than 50 laps to go. His No. 4 Chevrolet SS would end up hitting the wall ruining his chances of winning the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Harvick would try to make his way to the garage but his car would become engulfed in flames. Eventually a crew member told Harvick to “get the hell out of there” which the driver did.

Also collected in the incident were Jamie McMurray and Brad Keselowski. McMurray was forced to the garage after Keselowski ran into his rear end, while the hood of the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion was removed for the rest of the race.
