Ganassi Racing signed 18-year-old Dylan Kwasniewski to a developmental deal. The deal was announced prior to Sunday’s running of the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Kwasniewski is currently competing in the NASCAR Nawiondie Series for Turner Scott Motorsports. He was the 2012 K&N Pro Series West championship and the 2013 K&N Pro Series East championship.

“This young man has impressed us from the moment we saw him,” Ganassi said. “His poise, skill and determination on the race track are remarkable for someone so young. I am really looking forward to seeing him grow as a driver with each increase of competition. I think Dylan has a big future ahead of him in NASCAR.”

The move will give Ganassi options down the road. The owner said that the future of Jamie McMurray was not in question. Recently the team brought Kyle Larson up to the Sprint Cup level after one year in the Natiownide Series.
