Following qualifying, Travis Kvapil spoke about his arrest earlier this week.

“Obviously, I’m embarrassed about the situation,” he said. “I don’t like the negative effects it’s brought on. So I apologize to NASCAR, my team, supporters of my team, my fans anyone else who was impacted by what happened Tuesday night.”

Kvapil, 37, was arrested on Tuesday night after a domestic dispute with his wife Jennifer. Now the veteran racer is focused on this weekends event at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“(BK Racing owner Ron Devine) asked me if I thought I could get the job done, and I told him I think I can,” he said. “I strap in, I step into this garage area and I’m focused on this race car and what it takes to do the best job we can throughout the weekend and particularly Saturday night.”

Kvapil has competed in all 30 races this season in the No. 93 Toyota for BK Racing. His best finish this season came during the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol when he finished 16th.
