Michael Waltrip Racing sponsor, 5-Hour Energy has decided to stay with the team, and Clint Bowyer through the 2014 season.

The announcement came on Friday.

Last weekend at New Hampshire, 5-Hour Energy company president Scott Henderson said that they initially wanted to wait and see how the season played out before making a decision in regards to 5-Hour Energy’s direction within NASCAR, but the amount of people waiting on the decision, influenced the sponsor to speed up their announcement.

Bowyer will continue to drive the No. 15 with 5-Hour Energy as his primary sponsor.

This comes after the shocking news last week that NAPA Auto Parts was leaving the team, due to the events that transpired at Richmond International Raceway, when the team tried to manipulate the outcome of the race to help the No. 56 of Martin Truex Jr. clinch a spot in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chase.

Truex Jr. is without a sponsor in 2014, and co-team owner Michael Waltrip has said he is free to leave the team if he chooses.

Furniture Row Racing was one team that is interested in having Truex drive for them next year. The team said there was no rush for Truex to make a decision, because if he does not sign with them, they will likely go with a youngster in the Nationwide Series.
