NASCAR fines woman who slapped Max Papis

The woman who slapped NASCAR driver Max Papis has been fined by the sport.

Kelly Heaphy, the girlfriend of driver Mike Skeen, slapped Papis after the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event in Canada.

Papis and Skeen wrecked on the last lap of the race while racing for third place. On the cool down lap – after the race was over – Papis and Skeen drove their trucks around the track arguing with one another.

Once Papis got out of his car he gave an interview with Fox Sports 1 and was slapped by Heaphy afterwards.

The slap from Heaphy resulted in a $2,5000 fine by NASCAR. Kenny Tharp, spokesperson for NASCAR, described the reason for fining Heaphy.

“She signed in with the team on a single event license,”

Skeen’s crew chief, Bryan Berry, was also fined $2,500 for failing to control team members.

After the slap Papis entered Skeen’s motor home. Details get unclear at that point as Skeen alleges that Papis pushed Heaphy down the stairs while Papis says he simply “moved her aside.”
