The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is at Atlanta Motor Speedway this week. With just two races before the NASCAR Chase starts there is sure to be some jostling in the standings.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start the AdvoCare 500 on the pole. It is the first career pole in the Cup Series for the rookie. Along side Stenhouse will be his Roush Fenway Racing teammate Carl Edwards.
Atlanta Motor Speedway is a 1.54 mile oval located in Hampton, GA which first opened in 1960. Sunday nights 500 mile race will consist of 325 laps.
Coverage of the race will begin airing on ESPN starting at 7:30 pm ET with the green flag to wave at 7:47 pm ET.
With only 43 cars on the entry list there were no drivers who failed to qualify. Jeff Gordon won this race a year ago and will start Sunday nights race in the fifth position.
