Jimmie Johnson qualified second for the Camping World RV 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway but the five time Sprint Cup Series champion will drop to the back of the field.

Johnson’s time of 135.902 mph was disallowed because the No. 48 Chevrolet was found to be too low on both sides.

The No. 48 team had issues passing a pre-qualifying inspection and Johnson was placed on the 5-minute clock by NASCAR giving the team five minutes to fix problems before being penalized. Johnson went on to qualify second but problems were again noticed in post-qualifying inspection.

Johnson will start 43rd in Sunday’s race.
