DAYTONA BEACH — Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing will don a special paint scheme this weekend at Daytona International Speedway for the running of the Coke Zero 400 under the lights. It is the same scheme that Harvick ran and won in at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.
Harvick’s paint scheme will reflect Budweiser’s limited red, white and blue packaging. The packaging represents a special initiative in which the brand will contribute a portion of all sales from May 5 – July 4 to help raise as much as $1.5 million for the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides post-secondary educational scholarships for families of U.S. military personnel killed or disabled while serving their country.
Budweiser’s world famous Clydesdales will be on display in the DIS midway area throughout the Coke Zero 400 race weekend.
The hitch consists of eight horses, the famous red, white and gold beer wagon and two drivers seated next to the hitch’s signature mascot Dalmatian. To qualify for one of the traveling hitches, a Budweiser Clydesdale must be a gelding at least four years of age, stand 72 inches at the shoulder when fully mature, weigh between 1,800 and 2,300 pounds, have a bay coat, four white legs, a white blaze, and black mane and tail.
Harvick has two wins this season and currently sits 4th in the NASCAR point standings.
