A total of 15 spectators were transported to area hospitals following the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona. One fan is said to be headed to surgery with head trauma.
As the field raced to the checkered flag a wreck occurred sending the No. 32 car into the catch fence. Parts of the suspension and a tire flew into the fans side of the fence.
