Robby Gordon claims second straight Parker 425

Robby Gordon is pretty good at this Trophy Truck racing. Gordon won the Parker 425 for the second consecutive year driving his No. 77 SPEED Energy/Toyo Tires truck.

Gordon started the event second one minute behind pole winner Rob MacCachren but within 20 minutes had assumed the lead.

For the remainder of the race Gordon was hardly challenged and cruised to memorable victory for himself and navigator Charlie Holbrook.

“The No. 77 SPEED Energy / Toyo Tires Trophy Truck was the fastest it has been in a long time here at Parker. We ran extremely hard to catch Rob MacCachren on the first lap. There was no dust as the sun had not even come up yet entirely when we caught him. From there, it was smooth sailing. I saved most of my stuff for the final lap. The guys had an incredible pit stop, and we brought it home from there.”

This will not be the last of Gordon this year.

Next up for Gordon and the SPEED Energy Racing team is the 2013 King of the Hammers event in Johnson Valley, CA on Friday, February 8.

“I look forward to running my truck again at the Baja 500 where we’ll be tough to beat. Thanks again to Toyo Tires, MAPEI, 4 Wheel Parts, Traxxas, Impact, Mastercraft, Magnaflow, Safety-Kleen, Lincoln Welders and everyone else on our off-road program for making it all possible to do what I love to do, which is off-road racing.”
