Patriots rule Aaron Hernadez out for Week 4

The ankle of Aaron Hernandez will prevent him from playing in Week 4. The Patriots will be without the tight end when they play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Hernandez may be able to practice next leading up to next weekends game against Denver though playing in Week 6 against Seattle may be more realistic.

During Hernandez’s absence the Patriots will have to focus on Brandon Lloyd, Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski. Veteran tight end Kellan Winslow asked for his release and was granted it after one week with the team. Winslow caught one pass in the teams loss at Baltimore. Winslow has played in 93 games with 80 starts and has 438 receptions for 4,848 yards and 23 touchdowns.
