Michael Buffer to Introduce Drivers at Bristol Motor Speedway

Bruton Smith, owner of Bristol Motor Speedway, listened to the fans. Fans told the track owner they wanted more beating and banging, after a reconfiguration years ago provided two racing groves and considerably less cautions.

Smith had the progressive banking removed from Bristol following the Sprint race at the track. Now legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer will introduce the drivers for the Saturday night race on August 25.

Also, for the first time, fans will be asked to vote, via the Sprint Unlimited Text to Vote, for the driver’s introduction they like best. The winning driver then will receive $10,000 that will go to his or her favorite charitable organization.

Driver introductions at Bristol are some of the most unique in the sport of NASCAR. Drivers choose a song to come out to. Some of the highlights have included Denny Hamlin dancing “The Dougie” on his way down the ramp and “How do you like my now” which played as Tony Stewart made his way out. Australian driver Marcos Ambrose has traditionally come out to songs performed by bands from the down under.

There are still tickets available for all three nights of racing at Bristol.
