The U.S. Air Force continues it’s sponsorship of the #43 car of Richard Petty Motorsports this Saturday night at Daytona. Almirola won the pole at Charlotte in May while driving the in the air force sponsored car, the team hopes to see similar results for the upcoming Coke Zero 400.

Almirola is currently 22nd in the overall driver standings. In 17 starts this season he has recorded two finishes inside the top-10.

He was involved in a crash at the season opening race at Daytona and ended up finishing 33rd.At the other restrictor plate race this season, Talladega, he finished 12th.

The race will also be the first since ‘The King” Richard Petty turned 75. While others were wishing Petty the standard Happy Birthday line, Almirola opted to poke a little fun at the head man at RPM.

Aric Almirola @aric_almirola Happy Birthday 2 The King. Pretty positive he’s not going to read this or retweet it. And he doesnt have a cell phone. But happy 75th anyway
