Brian Keselowski expands operations for 2012

Brian Keselowski is the older brother of Brad Keselowski but their NASCAR careers are quite different. Thus far his biggest NASCAR moment came during the Gatorade Duel’s of 2011 when he qualified for the Daytona 500 thanks to some pushing from his younger brother.

Keselowkski struggled though a year of missing races and gallbladder surgery in 2011. That has not deterred the 30 year-old Michigan native whose team K-Automotive announced they plan to field an ARCA team in 2012 in addition to running some Cup races.

In November the team let potential drivers know that they were on the lookout for talent for the ARCA Series. An official announcement is expected to come soon about who will drive the ARCA car.

“I concentrated on my Cup racing all year and we’ve seen how that went. It was very hard to do with little sponsorship and as an owner I want to keep my company going and I’d like to be able to keep racing my Cup car too. I think expanding the company will be the way to do it. I really enjoyed my time when I raced in the ARCA Series and I’d like to help new drivers who are looking to get into this sport, the chance to be able to do it too. I have the cars and parts and they will not help me by sitting on a shelf or under a car cover. They are here to be raced, so let’s go racing” stated Keselowski.

No word on how many races of which ones Keselowski plans to run in his #92 car. No sponsorship has been announced either. Thanks to Jennifer Calandrillo for the news.
