Interstate Batteries on #18, M&M’s to return in 2012

The #18 of Kyle Busch will be sponsored by Interstate Batteries this weekend at Phoenix. Busch was parked last week at Texas after intentionally wrecking Ron Hornaday under caution during a Camping World Truck series race. NASCAR later fined the driver $50,000 and kept him on probation until the end of the year.

M&M’s, the primary sponsor of Busch, opted to pull their name off of his ride for the final two races. Joe Gibbs Racing was successful in getting Interstate Batteries to assume sponsoring duties for the events at Phoenix and Homestead.

A statement released by Mars says that the M&M’s name will again be on the #18’s car in 2012 “at which time Kyle Busch will be the driver with the expectation that no future incident take place.”

Z-line Designs pulled Busch from the final Nationwide race at Homestead. It is unclear what their plans for 2012 are. That car will be run by Denny Hamlin.
