Geschickter stops dominos from falling completley

With Kasey Kahne’s recent release from Richard Petty Motorsports it was easy to see how a potential trickle effect could happen. Ambrose could have slid over to the #9 car with Bobby Labonte taking his place in the #47 however Tad Geschickter the owner of the #47 refused a request by Ambrose for an early release.

Geschickter cited sponsor and promotional obligations prevented him from being able to grant Ambrose’s request.

“Our plan at this point is to finish out the year,” said Geschickter, who has hired 2000 Sprint Cup champion Bobby Labonte to replace Ambrose in the #47 next year.
