Giants agree to deals with Cain, Affeldt and Wilson

San Francisco Giants vs Colorado Rockies in DenverMatt Cain, Jeremy Affeldt and Brian Wilson will all remain with the San Fransisco Giants though 2012.

While Affeldt remains one of the better left handed options in the game and Wilson appears on the brink of being one of the best closers in the game Cain is the big fish in this net.

Cain’s new contract appears to be worth $26.25 million though 2012. He’ll made $4.25 this season, $7 million next and then a whopping $15 million in 2012.

Cain, 25, has already spent four full seasons in the majors and last season finished with career bests in wins (14), innings (217.2), ERA (2.89) and WHIP (1.18)

Unquestionably both Cain and Wilson are considered key cogs in the Giants organization and having them under wraps will breath a sigh of relief to the front office as well as the fans.
