Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is out of his coma.
Schumacher has been at the Grenoble University Hospital since a skiing accident on Dec. 29.
Manager Sabine Kehm said Schumacher “is not in a coma anymore,” in a statement but offered few additional details.
Schumacher has been transferred to Lausanne University Hospital where he will continue rehabilitation.
In late January, doctors began the process of withdrawing sedatives to try to wake him up.
Schumacher’s family “would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists in Grenoble as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident, who did an excellent job in those first months,” Kehm’s statement added.
