Landon Norris began the start of the 2025 season with a win in a wet Australian Grand Prix.
After the F2 race was cancelled, F1 cars came to the grid. On the formation lap rookie Isack Hadjar crashed. After a delay a second formation lap was completed and the race started. As Lando Norris led them to green, Max Verstappen moved up to second before, another rookie, Jack Doohan crashed on the opening lap. Carlos Sainz would then crash under the safety car.
Conditions remained wet for the Australian Grand Prix. Norris would end up 0.895 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen with George Russell claiming the third spot on the podium. Lewis Hamilton, in his first race with Ferrari, claimed one championship point with a tenth place finish.
