Giancarlo Stanton will need another 6-8 weeks to heal the fractures in his face he told reporters on Thursday.
Stanton took a fastball to his face on Sept. 11 and is still on the mend.
There is another CT scheduled to determine if he can fly and he has more dental work to be done.

“Swelling is way down, much better than I envisioned,” he said. “Just got to get the grill fixed, and go from there.”
Stanton was atop or near the top of most offensive statistics prior to the injury. He will miss the rest of the 2014 season but should be ready to go for the start of spring training next year. The big talk about him this offseason will be whether or not the Marlins pay up the $300 million or so to keep him in town or if he rebuffs their offers and is traded.
