The Yankees picked up right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker and international bonus pool money in a trade with the Pirates on Friday.
In exchange the Pirates will get a player to be named later.
Brubaker, 30, got a one-year deal in January worth $2,275,000 but landed on the 60-day injured list in February.
A sixth round pick of the Pirates in 2015, Brubaker was the team’s opening day starter.
