The Chicago White Sox will welcome back first basemen Paul Konerko from the 15-day disabled list on Monday when they host the Detroit Tigers.
Konerko is expected to rejoin the lineup tonight for the start of a three game series against Detroit. The 37-year-old Konerko had been out for nearly three weeks with a lower back strain.
While rehabbing Konerko played three games with Double-A Birmingham connecting for four hits in his ten at-bats.
The White Sox are one of the worst offensive clubs in baseball and are mired in last place in the AL Central.
Konerko will return to a disappointing .249/.314/.368 batting line at the major league level. In what could be his last season, Konerko has just 7 home runs and 30 RBI though 67 games played.
