Major League Baseball is expanding instant replay for umpires’ calls next year.
Speaking to the Baseball Writers’ Association of America on Tuesday, Torre said “We’re pretty confident we’ll have it in place for 2014.”
Baseball has been reviewing home run calls since August 2008 but has made no progress in reviewing additional calls.
“We’re still in the tweaking stages” and “we’re not limiting ourselves.” Torre said.
Any plan to expand instant replay would need the approval of the players and umpires unions.
