The Chicago White Sox had planned to activate Dewayne Wise after the All-Star break but the he has suffered another strain in his right hamstring.
Wise, 35, began his most recent rehab assignment on July 6 after suffering a rib injury in June.
In 30 games for the White Sox this season the outfielder was hitting .234 with one home run and three RBI.
