The Houston Astros are going to lose 100 games this season. Their payroll ranks at the bottom of baseball but do not worry fans. it is not your money according to new owner Jim Crane.
Crane was responding to critics of the team when he fired off a statement in the Wall Street Journal about the teams spending habits.
“It doesn’t bother me that people want us to spend more money…but it’s not their money. This is a private company, even though it’s got a public flair to it. If they want to write a check for 10 million bucks, they can give me a call.”
Never mind the fact that Crane will depend on fans to buy tickets, concessions and merchandise. Then again maybe he just sees that as a necessity, after-all the Astros did reveal new logos and uniforms while preparing for this 100 plus loss season.
